The East Gippsland Biathlon Club was established in 2015 and has been instrumental in producing many successful National Team Biathletes who have represented Australia at National Championships, Youth Olympics, IBU Cup and on World Cup. EGBC is affiliated with Biathlon Australia (BA) which is the recognised National Federation recognised by AusSport and the Australian Olympic Committee. BA regained NF recognition in 2025.
EGBC is a registered, not for profit, Snowsports Club with Snowsports insurance though Snow Australia and a business operating licence with Hotham Resort Management Board (RMB). This means all membership funds goes back into the club and programs.
HP Athletes

Darcie Morton
Darcie, from Marlo in far East Gippsland is the #1 ranked Biathlete in Australia and currently the only Australian representative on the IBU World Cup circuit.
Darcie is currently ranked 6th in the Olympic Wild Card ranking at the end of the 2024/25 IBU season. Darcie is on target to represent Australia at the 2026 Milano-Cortina Winter Olympics.

Damika Morton
Damika is currently Biathlon Australia's #2 ranked female internationally with 189 IBU Q points. Damika competed on the IBU Cup as a 16 year old in 2024/25 achieving commendable results including a 63rd in IBU Cup 1 in Idre Fjall, Sweden.
Damika is currently studying Year 12 through the Virtual School Victoria while living in Vuokatti, Finland where she is training with the Vuokatti Spots Academy and the Sotkama Upper Secondary Sports School.
Damika aims to represent Australia on the IBU Cup again in 2025/26.

Rosie Franzke
Rosie Franzke is 17 years old and is combining Year 12 with the Virtual School Victoria with daily training at Hotham with EGBC.
Rosie has been a member of EGBC since beginning racing X C skiing at age 10 and has gone on to win numerous Australian X C skiing age group championship titles.

Matthew Brumby
No. 1 ranked AUS para Biathlete internationally. Matt is on track to Milano. Matt will train at Hotham with East Gippsland Biathlon Club from 5 August after returning for a National training camp in New Zealand.

Phoenix Sparke
Phoenix is currently Biathlon Australia's #1 ranked male internationally. Phoenix is the only Aus male with IBU Q points below 150 which means he can start in Start group 1 and 2 on IBU Cup.
Phoenix, who is now 19, has been a member of EGBC since he began the sport as a 12 year old.
Phoenix is currently training with the Holmenkollen Biathlon Team in Oslo. This is a huge honour to be included in this team.

Alberto Allen
EGBC Hotham Biathlon is pleased to have Alberto Allen as part of our race team for 2025/26.
15 year old Alberto is one of the fastest biathletes and X C skiers in the World for his age. Alberto started skiing when 6 years old, in Austria, when living at the beautiful village of Obertilliach in East Tyrol which became Alberto's Austrian home.
